Such a great day to have a pancake breakfast, watch the parade, play all day, then have a bbq and fireworks with friends! Such a great reason to celebrate...FREEDOM!
Such a great weekend to spend with family in the mountains (although we missed my brother and sisters being there!). The kids love this place just like we did when we were kids.
Nate walked the plank
Carter volunteered to wear the shaving cream hat, thanks Carter.
And ever since the kids watched Grandad play chubby bunnies with his siblings, they think it is so funny to play at every meal.
The girls started off the Summer with a 3-day cheer camp. They liked learning from the high school cheerleaders and practiced every night when they got home (even Nate knows those cheers now :) The big performance at the end was cute and they had lots of spirit!
So this starts off with a funny story... funny to me, anyway...The girls music teacher at school was having each class do their own little talent show. The kids could participate if they wanted and everyone would have an opportunity to participate. Then, if they wanted to try out for the schoolwide talent show, they could. Well, Gabby had been sick and got well just in time for her class talent show. Unfortunately, when she went back to school they had done some rearranging of their music time and she had missed the show. She was so sad. She had been practicing all week.I told her she could perform for the big show tryouts but warned her that if she made it she'd have to sing in front of the whole school (Gabby gets stagefright). She hesitated but wanted to perform her song so badly she said okay. Carter tried out as well. A few days later, we learned that both girls made it but to try to have as many acts in the show as they could, they were going to have them sing together. This was perfect for Gabby to have someone to sing with her for her first time on stage! They sang the Star-Spangled Banner and did a good job (I'll try to post video sometime). They also loved being backstage with friends, watching from the wings. They had smiles on their faces the rest of the day :)
The girls were in another play last semester...Peter Pan! They made a cute Indian and Mermaid and Carter even had a small speaking part. Way to go girls!
It was about time for Nate to get a bike that didn't have princesses or Dora on it :) Nate LOVES this bike, which he named the Red Rock-it. He got the hang of riding it really quickly and now we can all go on bike rides together. The only annoying thing is when he stops suddenly right in front of you and says his bike is out of gas...
Easter seems so long ago, I'm a bit behind on posting! They had a fun little egg hunt for our ward. We started off watching a movie about the Resurrection of Christ to put us in the right frame of mind for Easter. Then the kids got to hunt eggs outside with all their friends.
