Viva Las Vegas

We had so much fun in Las Vegas for the Dental Hygiene convention...well the guys were at the convention, the girls just played. Since I am too lazy to describe the trip today, what happened in Vegas is staying in Vegas.

Hi-ya!

During the summer, EA offers "college for kids" with lots of different activities to choose from. We let the girls pick whatever they wanted to do and both of my girly girls chose martial arts over dance and art classes. Plus, the Tenney girls are in it too. I have to say that I am more impressed with karate than I thought I would be. It's a great workout for kids and they love it!

Camping with Cousins

Grandpa Bill and Grandma Diane planned a fun family camp over Memorial Day weekend. It made us miss the mountains and the nice weather! They picked a great campsite and the cousins just played and played and slept and woke up to play some more!Still in their jammies and deciding what to do first.
While taking a rest from a hike, the kids convinced Grandpa
to play duck duck goose with them.Father and Sons
and more Father and Son.

Boat Races

This was a great camping idea. The kids made boats using paper plates, leftover water bottles etc. and had races down the creek. Each boat had a "rider" and they actually floated (some floated upside-down but hey, they still made it).Gabs had a giraffe atop her boat
Faith had this beautiful ballerina
All the boats ready to set sail
Bon Voyage!

Our Kindergarten Grad

It seems like she just started Kindergarten, now she's a first grader! Carter had a really good first year of school. Even with moving schools half way through, she has loved every minute.
Today, all the Kindergarten classes put on a little program. They sang and danced really well, it was so cute.
After the show with Gabby and Nate

One last picture with her teacher

So long Kindergarten, hello summer vacation!

First Dance Recital

The girls got to dance in their first recital this weekend. Carter said her favorite part was getting to perform their tap dance, the "Rhinoceros Tap", in front of so many people. Gabby said her favorite part was doing the "boogie woogie" move :) Here are all the girls in their class waiting to go perform...
and after the show with their friends. Great job girls!

We don't need no education

The other day, Gabby asked me what I was doing on the computer. I showed her that I was setting up an account to help pay for her to go to college. "But I'm not going to college," she replied. I was a little shocked that she even had an opinion on the matter, she is only 3 after all. Since Gabby always says she wants to be a Mom when she grows up, I thought I would use that to convince her. "Oh yeah, you want to go college, so you can be a smart Mom," I answered.
"No, I don't need to go to college because I am going to be a wizard. A wizard and a Mom."

That's right

Since we live in the yard sale capital of the world, we decided to give it a shot and get rid of some of our junk. I went to wally-world early Sat. morning to get some change and put up the signs on my way back home. 4 cars beat me home and the next half hour was a flurry of the professional garage salers, and they weren't messing around. We had a steady stream of cars all day and sold almost everything. Not bad! Our pajama clad daughters set up a table to sell muffins. They turned up the cute factor and sold out after a few hours. The muffin stand then became a lemonade stand. They did really well for being first-time entrepreneurs!
The day was a success!
