Fields of Gold

We took a Sunday drive to see the poppy fields everyone has been telling us about. With all the rain this year, there are wildflowers everywhere, so pretty.Robert wanted us to try taking a family picture with the timer. Hmmm, this is the best we got.

Gotta love springtime in AZ!

Lake Crosby

Carter found a pair of goggles at her Auntie and Uncle's house and kept asking to go snorkeling. Uncle Jonathan decided it would be funny to let her try and got her a bowl of water and a straw. Oh Carter.

Egg Hunt at HP

We love joining the masses at HP for the annual egg hunt. It's tradition! Nate didn't get the whole find eggs and then carry them around thing. He ditched his basket shortly after this photo.
We miss living close to Ellie! (Can you tell we rolled out of bed to make it time, my girls have a little bed head going on)
Carter was hoping the bunnies would show up, since they are her favorite animal right now. She even got to pick one up...
ha, ha. I guess she just likes them from a distance.

Spring Break

Because spending Spring Break in ICU is not very fun, we decided we needed a vacation this year...but, we didn't want to travel very far with 3 kids in tow either...so, we took a little vacay to Tucson. It was really fun! We found lots of kid-friendly stuff to do and came back exhausted from playing so much! Sorry for posting the family album here but, Mom, these are for you. Enjoy .

Tucson Children's Museum

The kids looovved this place. They played for hours until they had visited every exhibit...a couple times.
This is what Nate did for over an hour, pushed a shopping cart around and around and around. Then he would stop at a table, pretend to eat and then back to pushing the cart.
The only exhibit the girls didn't like were the dinosaurs that came to life. Wimpy.

Spring Training

It was perfect baseball weather and we couldn't pass up a D-Backs spring training game. Nate's first baseball game!

Bowling

Nothing says quality family time like wearing matching bowling shoes. Carter asked if she could keep hers after the game.Nate even joined in, bowling a few turns for Gabs.
You can't fake this excitement. Our bowling outing was a success!

G is for Gabby & Giraffe

While in Tucson, we got to go to the zoo. Not only did we get to see Gabby's favorite animal, a giraffe, the girls also got to feed one! It was a bit slimy but they both thought it was cool.We met up with my friend Brittany who lives in Tucsonand our kiddos got to play. Such a fun day, thanks guys!

Beauty Shop

We are lucky to have two hairstylists in our family! Amy and Chelsea are both super talented and we highly recommend both :) My girls love to come to the salon with me for a new do. Carter, patiently waiting her turn:Nate getting bored watching all the styling; he fell asleep.
The girls told Amy that they wanted a new haircolor too, so she let them pick an extension in whatever color they wanted.
Gabs chose pink
and Carter chose purple. Thanks for making us look like rockstars Auntie Ames!

Piece of Cake

I never got around to posting Nate's first birthday pictures. All he needed was a little taste of chocolate frosting and he started grabbing cake by the fistfuls!

A hunting we will go

The other day, Carter walked by with her rubberband gun. She said she was hunting bear and deer. I followed her into Nate's room and found this: ...some teddy bears and Bambi waiting to take a shot... ...cowgirl Gabby riding into the sunset...
...Sheriff Nate making sure everything was legal. I think they were paying more attention in Tombstone than we thought!

Fun to be One

Today Nate turned one. He is officially a toddler, I can't believe it. He is the sweetest, funniest, busiest little mama's boy around. Here's a little bit about our favorite son: He is a human vacuum. He eats almost everything I give him (except eggs) and consumes it faster than I can put it on his tray. I was shocked when I realized he and Gabby can eat a whole box of mac n' cheese between the two of them. I'm sure he could give some of those hot dog eating contestants a run for their money.
Nate is an animal lover, especially dogs. He's not afraid to get right in a dog's face and play. These little cocker spaniel puppies (who aren't ours but are sooo cute) kept jumping up and licking Nate's face and he just giggled.
Nate loves anything with wheels that you can push. He loves his trucks and drives them all around the house. Here, he opted for the pink barbie car but only so the horses could go for a ride too.
He is a little bookworm. He spends a half hour or so in his room every morning looking through books. I hope he keeps up this habit!
Happy Birthday Nater Gator! We love you!

Nate's Masterpiece

Today, Nate was playing in the toy room when I spotted him sitting at the art desk with a marker in hand. I almost grabbed the marker away from him but he held it up in the air to tell me he wanted to use it. I thought it was cute and got him a piece of paper to color on. He actually colored on it, then took it to Gabby to show her his work. He was so proud of it, he hugged his paper, hence the wrinkles. I guess we have a budding artist on our hands.

Tombstone

We met Robert's brother, David, and his family in Tombstone last Monday. It was so fun to hang out and be tourists. We caught a wild west gunfight and kept an eye out for these outlaws: The part that was most fun was eating a picnic lunch in front of the courthouse and playing with cousins!

L-O-V-E

I love holidays! I love to decorate and bake and make it fun for the kids. Today, Nate and I were up early so we got breakfast ready for everyone (we don't love mornings so this doesn't happen very often)
Heart-shaped pancakes were on the menu, of course
3 full and happy kids ready to go to church.
Happy Valentine's Day to all our family and friends who we love!

Wednesday, February 03, 2010

It all started when Gabby found a screwdriver and a couple screws at my parents house and Gabby asked my Dad if he could help her build a house. Well now it has turned into a full-blown love of all things tools. She helped me assemble furniture as I was unpacking and was in heaven when I took her with me to Home Depot. Plus, my Dad made her this cute little tool bench with her own drive socket set to practice with. I can see her being the next Paige Hemmis on Extreme Makeover Home Edition, a crafty girl with a pink hard hat :)
